It’s been an exhausting week for me this past week. The new puppy wakes any time between 3am and 6am and cries to be let out of his puppy pen. We have tried to ignore him, but although his cries start as a soft mew, he has healthy lungs and they get louder and louder until one of us gives in and gets out of bed to pick him up. It’s usually me. So last week I couldn’t find the energy to walk let alone run. And we didn’t go to yoga, for the second week in a row.
I resolved to do better this week. And so I was out on the road this morning and at yoga this evening. I also managed to fit in a training session with my German Shepherd and made dinner for the family before leaving for yoga. So I feel a whole lot more energetic and that’s how this week’s word came to me.
Last week I also didn’t do that well with my Herbalife routine. As some of you will know, I practice intermittent fasting. I’ve been practicing IF for nearly 3 months now. I had hoped that I would lose weight, but while I did in the beginning, I gained it all back. With the help of some hindsight, I realized that I was not eating healthily during the feeding window, and so I decided to give Herbalife another try.
The combination of IF and Herbalife seems to be doing the trick for me. I usually break my fast with a Herbalife shake and I’ve found that I don’t get the urge to snack during the day as much as before. And my belly is definitely shrinking; the notches on my belt cannot lie. I’m looking forward to swapping my medium sized belts for small in the next month or so.
My nephew left for the Netherlands this evening. I now have nephews and nieces scattered across the globe. While it is so exciting for them to live and work in other countries, it is always sad to say goodbye. His mother asked us all to make his favorite dishes for his farewell on Sunday. So I summoned the energy to make his all time favorite dish – red pork. My daughter made trifle for him and in a sudden rush of energy, I decided to make some ice cream sandwiches. It all went down a treat!
Until next time ☕️
