Daily Gratitudes: Day 1 of 21

A mail dropped into my box a few days ago and told the story about how a 15 day gratitude blog challenge was instrumental in getting her through a tough year.

I have just started what may prove to be a tough few months, and I have decided to challenge myself to 21 days of daily gratitudes. I have written daily gratitudes before to help me through a tough time, but they were personal and tucked away into a large glass jar and not made public. Blogging daily gratitudes may prove a little difficult but therein lies the challenge! So let me kick off day 1 today to minimize any chance of my descending into any sort of negativity.

Today I am extraordinarily grateful to have had a very productive year at work. I am grateful to have had a very supportive boss, especially during those times when things have gone wrong. I am grateful that he was able to discern the value that I bring through all the din that sometimes made it hard to think. And I am grateful for the recognition that I have received for the difference that I have made this year.

I am also grateful for the support that I have received from the teams that I work with. I am grateful that they have been willing to learn from me. I am grateful to those who have been courageous enough to speak up and to do the right thing even when being afraid of consequences. I am even more grateful to those who have been brave enough to give me tough feedback. I will be eternally grateful for the lessons that these tough conversations have gifted me.

Finally, today I am grateful for all the smiles that have been passed my way. Smiling is contagious so they have made me smile too 😊

Until next time ☕️
