Let’s get started.
My blogging story
I didn’t intend to start a blog. My intention was to advertise my new coaching business so a friend of mine developed the site for me.
Not knowing what to do with it once it was published, I kind of just started to write a bit and have rediscovered the joy of writing that I used to have when I was just 10 years old! I remember being asked to read my essays to the class and how much they loved hearing my stories.
So I’m an accidental blogger!
I do enjoy writing the odd post and I especially love it when a couple of poetic lines fall onto the page. There are times when I find the pull of one of the daily prompts irresistible and then the words just fly from my fingers.
But otherwise, I would really like to write more about personal development and to get my business going because coaching and helping others is what I really love best.
Advice for new bloggers
Oh gosh, this is a difficult one because I am very much a new blogger myself and feel most unqualified to give any advice at all!
I still don’t know how to change categories, what the different categories are, when and how to use hashtags and have to have several attempts to link to another blog.
The one piece of advice that I would give though, because I found it so immensely useful, is to participate in challenges, something like the Daily Posts Daily Prompts. Not only do the daily word prompts provide regular inspiration but participation also boosts your readership. It’s a win-win!
And the other piece of advice is to visit other bloggers’ sites, like the blog if you liked what you read and think of leaving a comment. I’ve sometimes had what has felt like a bit of a conversation once or twice! Everyone is so appreciative of visitors and it’s like sitting down for the afternoon and reading a book of short stories.
Nominations
I usually get stuck here and give up. That’s how stressful I find this part! I’m not sure how to let the nominated bloggers know that I have nominated them, so please forgive me if I get this wrong!
I would like to nominate the following bloggers. Their blogs provide me with a constant source of reading delight! Please check them out.
2. Irene
3. Rebecca, Love, Motherhood & Art
5. Em
It continues to be a pleasure reading your posts 🙂
