Patience

Sometimes I stare into space

And wonder

Why does everyone rush

When rushing doesn’t help

With speed.

Slow and steady

Wins the race they say

But why are we racing

And where to

When there are only so many hours

In a lifetime.

So where would we find

The patience

The patience

To slow things down

To delay gratification

To love ourselves.

There are options

And possibilities

There is our family

And our friends

The way we walk

And talk

But we all know

That the answer lies

Within.
